Butterfly Garden
As a STEM certified school, we are committed to creating real-world learning opportunities for our students. Funding for the garden has come from the Forest Service, More Kids in the Woods, and the Talladega County Volunteer Program grant. In an outdoor classroom, a Pollinator Garden is a garden dedicated to native plants that provide nectar and pollen to native pollinator species. The Munford pollinator garden will be used by over 1,200 elementary, middle, and high school students to talk about food chains, food webs, life cycles, migration, civic education, public speaking, biomes, ecosystems, community, populations, mathematical comparisons, real-world solutions, analyze and interpret data, mathematical predictions, citing evidence, information text, non-fiction text, and comprehension skills.
